It worked beautifully. The sentiment at the bottom is also from the same set. The finishing touch that pulled it all together was sponging with distress ink.

MFT WEDNESDAY STAMP CLUB

This card is for My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club to watercolor. I used my Faber Castell Watercolor Pencils with my aqua pen. I colored in lightly one part at a time then outline darker then pulled the color from the edges with my aqua pen. The finishing detail, I outlined each part with my darkest brown, this made it stand out more. I did not use the aqua pen after that.

I used this sweet image THINKING OF HOO from MY FAVORITE THINGS. As well as their new JUMBO SCALLOP DIENAMICS and MY FAVORITE FELT. Let me tell you about this felt. I purchased it for the first time this month and have been pleasantly surprised. It cuts like paper in my trimmer and my Cuttlebug. I LOVE this stuff. Awesome. I tried a piece of felt from the craft store and it did not cut all the way through when I used my cuttlebug and the jumbo scallop dienamic but this cut like butter. It is awesome IMO.

This is also for the Free For All Challenge BUTTONS AND BOWS on Splitcoaststampers today. Wendy challenged us to use buttons and or bows/ribbon in a different way, to try something different. So I put micro brads through my buttons. The ribbon is a RAK from my sweet friend K and this is my first time using it. I tied it around a square brad that I never use because they are so awkward but it worked here. Yay.

RECIPE:
Stamps:
Thinking of Hoo (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Wassau Exact Digital Hyper White (from Paper Zone), DP (Bella Blvd), Soft Suede (SU RAK from K)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black (from CDS)
Accessories: Faber Castell Watercolor Pencils, Aqua Pen, Micro Brads (Recollections from Michaels), Basic Grey Buttons, Martha Stewart Butterfly Around The Page Corner & Border Punches (Michaels), Square Clip, Soft Suedo Polka Dot Ribbon (SU RAK from K)
Techniques: Watercoloring using Watercolor Pencils

CDBC#5 AND SKETCH CHALLENGE #281

Good Wednesday am to you. I hope your week is going well. This simple card is for two challenges today.

First I made it for CLEARLY DELIGHTFUL BLOG CHALLENGE #5. The challenge was to use blue and green on the image. This image is a FREEBIE called CORNFLOWER from DOODLE PANTRY. Today is the last day to participate in the challenge. Just for participating in the challenge you get to choose a free digital image as well as being entered in a drawing for goodies.

The second challenge I made this card for is today's Sketch Challenge on splitcoaststampers.

I kept it very clean and simple. I found this quote online to go with this flower. Works great with this sketch. By staying simple and using all white it draws the eye to this beautiful flower of Laurie's. Also by only using a strip of score tape in the center of each panel, it is snail mailable without extra postage and has a bit of dimension on the edges.

RECIPE:

STAMPS: Cornflower Freebie (Doodle Pantry), Computer Generated Sentiment

INK:Printer, Copic Markers G05, YG06, B00, B01, BG05, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain

PAPER:Wassau Exact Digital Hyper White (Paper Zone)

CLEARLY INSPIRED CHALLENGE #13

Good morning. Hope it is starting off well for you. The sun is shining here. What more could you ask for? As my teenage son opened the front door to leave for school, he discovered a raccoon. He yelled at it to go away so he could get safely out the door. Hee. Scaredy cat teenager. Hee. It was heading up a tree, what did he think it was gonna turn on him, he was 8 feet away. Anyway, I got a giggle out of that one. Hee.

You are going to want to head over to to the Clear Dollar Stamps Blog and find out about the new prize for the CLEARLY INSPIRED CHALLENGE. It is now a monthly challenge. Opens the first of the month with a theme and runs til the first of the next month. Pull out your Clear Dollar Stamps if you have them, if not use what you have. Did you check out the prize yet? AN ENTIRE MONTH'S RELEASE OF STAMPS (one of each stamp being released). Wow!
So, this month's challenge is FLOWERS. It's all about the flowers. It is May after all. Hee. I used the MAY STAMP OF THE MONTH LILY OF THE VALLEY and the sentiment from PEONY from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

I stamped partial images of the Lily on these panels and colored them in using Copic markers from Clear Dollar Stamps that coordinate with the Spring Whispers Clearly Coordinating Cardstock and Ribbon Collection.

This card is also for today's Free For All Challenge #11 on Splitcoaststampers. Today's challenge is to use your gel pens. I use a white gel pen to dot the edges of my black mats. Also I highlighted the leaves and flowers on my panels.
This card is flat so it will mail without extra postage, definitely a plus.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:May Stamp Of The Month Lily of The Valley, Peony (Clear Dollar Stamps)

CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE #65

The Vertigo I have had this week is improving. Yeah. For that I am very grateful. It is not fun and I think mine was a light case.

I just love CAS (Clean And Simple). Monday's Challenge is to make a May Flowers card or a Mother's Day card/project. I still need to make cards for my Mom and my MIL. So I chose to make a Mother's Day card.

My MIL is very special. She treats me like a princess everytime I visit. She makes me tamales even in 100 degree plus weather. She is surviving the loss of her husband since December. She speaks Spanish so I computer generated the sentiment in Spanish.

This stamp is a dollar stamp from GStudio from Joanns. The sentiment it came with says "A Mother is the Heart of the Home". I just had to get it. I love this cute house. I cut the top of my card for my house shape and rounded my corners. Easy peezy!

RECIPE:
Stamps: A Mother Is The Heart Of The Home (G Studio $ stamps JoAnns), Computer generated sentiment Kristen ITC font Microsoft Word)
Paper: Wassau Exact Digital Hyper White (from Paper Zone), Small Orange Dots DP (Recollections from Michaels)
Ink: Printer, Momento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Bic Mark-It Markers, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain
Accessories: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Scallop Trim Border Punch (Stampin Up), Dimensional
Techniques: Sponging, Computer
