CLEAN AND SIMPLE WHEE

I finally inked up this cutie for today's Clean And Simple Challenge JEN'S SIG LINE COLORS.
I used this PURE INNOCENCE - START EACH DAY WITH WHEE from MY FAVORITE THINGS.
The colors for today's challenge are:
Bashful Blue
Certainly Celery
Pumpkin Pie
I know you are saying "Lisa her dress looks red", yes I know, but trust me IRL it is a dark orange. Honest.
I made my own cloud template and started from the top sponging with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Broken China on the rest of the page. Then I sponged with Peeled Paint at the bottom and all over the edges with Vintage Photo. I used Bic Mark-It Markers to color her dress, shoes, barret and leaves then sponged with the Vintage Photo and popped up after I sewed on the front of the card.
RECIPE:

Paper: Wassau Exact Digital Hyper White (Paper Zone)

TOADSTOOL THANKS

It was raining and cold this weekend. Not summer weather that is for sure. Bet most of you had different weather right? I did hear from my Marine son, he called home all on his own and that was a wonderful blessing!

Today, I played in the Clean And Simple Challenge DIANE'S SKETCH. This was a fun sketch. I just love playing in challenges because they inspire me to create something I probably would not have otherwise. Love it.

I used this fun new release MUSHROOM WHIMSEY from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS. I am just loving this new set. I've been dieing to make a toadstool like this since I got it. It makes me smile.

I Cut out side the lines for my Mushroom panel. I stamped it on a 2" wide strip of Cotton White CS then measured my sides and cut around the top. Then I stamped three more on separate cs. First cutting out the whole mushroom, second cutting out just the stem, third cutting the top only. I colored first then cut, sponged and adhered. The whole panel is popped up but the individual pieces were adhered with double sided tape. I sponged the edges of the panel. I measured my lines where I wanted them, stamped the thanks lined up on my pencil marks (that I later erased). Then I handstitched after paper piercing. Also I cut a 1/8" strip of the front bottom and adhered a 3/4" x 5 1/2" strip of black behind after I punched my corners. The ribbon was the finished touch.

RECIPE:
ALL CDS STAMPS USED: Mushroom Whimsey
PAPER:Cottonball White, Night Eclipse (CDS)
INK:Momento Tuxedo Black (from CDS), Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain
MARKERS:Copics R27, E31, E57 (from CDS)
ACCESSORIES:Cherry Go Round Ribbon (CDS), Paper Piercer, DMC floss, Needle, Mouse Pad, Tim Holtz Blending Tool, Dimensionals, Small round corner punch
TECHNIQUES:Sponging, Handstitching

ONE LAYER CARD

Happy Monday? What did you do this weekend? I got to see one of my bestest friends that I have not physically seen in years though we keep in touch. I got to hold and feed a newborn and felt spiritually fed at church. So I enjoyed mine. Yay.

I played in the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoaststampers ONE LAYER WONDERS.

So the challenge is take your cardstock, fold in half and that's it. You can stamp but not add any more layers of paper to it. So I made my card a circle card using my cuttlebug and the circle nestabilities. I masked my mushrooms and sponged while they were masked. I removed the masks and colored just under the tops and left the stems white, I thought they made the card pop. I sponged layers of blues then went over with Vintage Photo Distress ink (my favorite).

I used this fun new release MUSHROOM WHIMSEY from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

RECIPE:
CDS STAMPS USED:Mushroom Whimsey
PAPER:Cottonball White (CDS)
INK:Momento Tuxedo Black,Rich Cocoa (from CDS), VersaMark, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Only Orange, Bashful Blue, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise (Stampin Up), Tim Holtz Destress Ink Vintage Photo
MARKERS:Copics E57, E31 (from CDS)
ACCESSORIES:Post-It Notes, Tim Holtz Blending Tool, Spong, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Circles (from CDS)
TECHNIQUES:Masking, Sponging

COLOR COMBINATION CHALLENGE #274

Hi. I was happy to be asked by Betty aka gbedwright to make a sample for today's Color Combination Challenge.

I am finding that the Color Challenge is good for me because I tend to use the same colors. I love brights. I tend to stick in that color scheme, my comfort zone. By participating in the color challenge I try colors I never even thought of trying together. Like today's

Ruby Red

Tempting Turquoise

Cameo Coral

Dessert option: Using Ric Rac

This new set from Stampin Up Elements of Style is so pretty. I love it. The stamp does all the work. All you have to do is color it in. Don't have to shade or anything and it looks wonderful.

WHAT I DID:
It is alot simpler than it looks to make. I used my coluzzle template. I first made my card 4 1/2 square then cut my circle leaving some fold at the top.

Next I used a ruler and cut a tiny bit off the bottom to make it flat, so it sits well and doesn't roll. I use the ruler so It is level and not tilted. (I have like a quilting ruler).

I then stamped the flowers how I wanted them knowing I would pop some up so I wanted them to overlap the edge. I did not cut around them. They are chopped off because I stamp after cutting my circle out.

Then I stamped the image on a separate piece of paper and colored and pop up the ones I wanted. (I sponged the popped up flowers with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Die, really makes them pop). I colored the entire image on the circle first. The SU markers did not bleed through so I did not have to worry about that, but alcohol markers will so you'll need to put something under your card front as you work and will need to make a card liner for the inside.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Elements Of Style (Stampin Up)
Paper: Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Stampin Up Markers Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Close To Cocoa, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Tim Holtz Distress Inks Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain
Accessories: Coluzzle, Tim Holtz Blending Tool, Dimensionals
