Sketch Challenge #255

Isn't this new release CHARLIE NATIVITY from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS just adorable!!! I had so much fun coloring it. My muse was the rich colors of old you see on the Old World nativity sets etc. I'm not sure I like the stickles I added. Undecided on that yet. Hee. You know how that goes. But I had to try it.

I just loved Roxie's Sketch Challenge last Wednesday on Splitcoaststampers. I did not really like the sketch at first but once I had it all together, I loved it. Funny.

I learned a couple tips on the box (manger) that baby Charlie is in to make it look more realistic. First I cut some little triangle notches out of the sides where the panels ended. Second, I scored all the lines of the boards and bent the one on the left and IRL it looks great.

Thank you for visiting me today!

Clearly Inspired Challenge - Sketch

It is time for Clear Dollar Stamps Clearly Inspired Challenge. Today is a sketch challenge. Check it out. 5 cards will be chosen to highlight for a week and one person will receive a prize from random drawing. Come play today. You do not have to own Clear Dollar Stamps to play.

I flipped the sketch sideways. I used the new release WELCOME TO PARENTHOOD and an older release PEONY from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

I paper pieced the flower petals only and used markers on the other parts of the flower. I stitched in black around the flower to make it stand out more. I also stitched around the edge of the nestie and card base edge. I just love Martha Stewart's new punches. I used the Loops one and punched bother sides of this strip, I love the result. Glazed brads finish it off.

Thank you for visiting me today.

Holiday Hot Chocolate Recipe

I had lots of fun making this card. I used two new releases ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE and CUP OF COCOA from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.
I also used an individual stamp from CDS called CANDY STICKS. All these individual stamps are under $1.50. They are so cute and fun to use.

Included on my card is a yummy recipe called HOLIDAY HOT CHOCLATE
Ingredients:
Instant Hot Chocolate Packet
Vanilla Ice Cream (or your choice)
Whip Cream (I use the squirt kind)
Chocolate sprinkles (optional)
Candy Cane
Directions:
Make cup of hot chocolate according to packet directions. Top with one scoop of ice cream and then whip cream. Sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles if desired. Add a candy cane to stir with.
This is a family favorite of ours. Yum. Try it.

I paper pieced my cups and sponged edges with distress ink. I layered to get the look I wanted. I decorated with the candy sticks for edges. I used dimensional glaze, and the tip I learned for the candy sticks was to make one long slow line. It gave my stick some roundness like a real candy stick. On the cups, I dimensionals glazed them each three times. Really stands out IRL. The mulitiple layers of glaze makes a big difference. Looks really nice.

Thank you for visiting me today.

Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday #67

Twas the Night before Teaparty,
And All through the house,
Not a single Teddy Bear Stamp,
Not even up the sleeve of my blouse.

My husband and son were all snug in their beds,
I decided to retire too and see if an idea would pop into my head.

When out on the street their arose such a clatter,
I realized it was the garbage man and decided it didn't matter.

I closed the blinds with a clash,
And all of a sudden an idea came to me in a flash.
A bear is a bear I said.
And I decided to use my new polar bear stamp instead.

Follow me to Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

Happy Day

A wonderfully Heartfelt RAK from Dawn
(above)

An Amazing Find from Joanns
(above)

WHAT A HAPPY DAY
First I receive this wonderfully heartfelt RAK from my very thoughtful friend Dawn. She sent me two Copics that she accidentally had duplicates of. MY FIRST COPICS. Yay. Now to learn how to use them. Hee. Also she sent me some PTI white cardstock to practice own. How nice is that. Thank you so much Dawn. AND................................ Dawn sent me this kit to make a toilet paper pumpkin like she made here. Now I have the supplies to make my own. Just in time for Thanksgiving. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww......I am so touched and thankful. Not done yet...............Dawn also sent me this fabulous Latte Thanks Card. I just love the browns. I don't use them much. I am inspired to make a brown card. Thank you so very much my thoughtful friend Dawn. You spread so much kindness and you wonder why it comes back to you. Hee

Second, I was at Joanns (local craft store that competes with Michaels, except has fabric). I found this magnificent stack of K&Company (text like-thin-not cardstock DP). It is called BEST OF K&COMPANY. And..............I had a coupon for 50% off from Michaels (we can use Joanns and Michaels coupons interchangeably at both stores). So I really scored. It has 360 sheets of beautiful paper. Comes to less than 5 cents a sheet. Wowzers (as my friend Cassie would say) Hee.

Don't you agree these are two great reasons for my happy day?

Featured Stamper Challenge #144

I just couldn't stay away from a challenge. I just had to look at today's Featured Stamper Challenge. I browsed through today's Featured Stamper Christine M aka Chrisations.ink and I was hooked, I had to play.

I chose to case this card of Christine's.

What I changed:
Matted main image with black
Used ribbon instead of cord
Put sentiment in corner
Image
Used dimensional glaze, glitter and distress ink for edges

I just loved Christine's snowmen so I chose this cutie new release LITTLE SNOWMAN and IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

WHAT I DID: I stamped my three front snowmen, then made masks by stamping three more snowmen on the sticky end of a post it note so it will stick to my paper for masking. Then I stamped the two back snowmen over the masks. When I removed the masks I had this snowmen party scene. Hee. Cute. I colored using ink pads and an aqua painter. Then I used distress ink for the edges then used glitter for the snow and dimensional glaze on top of the snow and the snowmen except for the bodies. It looks nice IRL. For the sentiment, I stamped it on the oval, then used a sponge to sponged red all over the edges then used antique linen then walnut stain for the edges.

Thank you for visiting me today!

RECIPE:
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED:Little Snowman, It's a Wonderful Life
