Clean And Simple Challenge And Wee Memories 69

Have you had a Honey Crisp Apple from this season? I just bought some the other day. Oh they are soooooooooooooooooooooo yummy. I saw a picture where they took the top off the honey crisp apple, scooped out the center and filled the apple with chicken salad. The salad had apple chunks in it too. Sounds good to me. Yum.

Today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE #137 on SCS. The challenge is paper piecing. I used two CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS sets. The sentiment is from NUMBERS 6:24-26 and the leaves are from SQUIRREL CHATTER.

This card is also for WEE MEMORIES CHALLENGE #69....Patterned Paper. As you can see I used patterned paper PYRUS by BASIC GREY for my base and paper pieced leaves. I sponged all edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Numbers6:24-26, Squirrel Chatter (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPERS:Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps), Pyrus (Basic Grey from Clear Dollar Stamps)

Blog Hop Winner and NEW SVGs

Today is the Release of New SVG's at Clear Dollar Stamps. Check them all out on the CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS BLOG.

My first sample uses the New Release WINDMILL SVG/PDF Designed by Stacy Morgan. Here is a front view showing the windmill blades I embossed with the Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder and sponged the edges with Hot Cocoa.

To hold the windmill blades together and as embellishment I used the die set DESIGNER LABELS.

Here's a back view showing how I put an owl on all four sides of the box. I used this adorable Halloween paper by My Minds Eye called MISCHIEVOUS.

Here's a close up of the yummy Molasses Cookies I made. This view also shows off this adorable owl from the set WHAT A HOOT.

RECIPE:
Stamps/Images: What A Hoot (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Cardstock/Papers:Worn Parchment, Night Eclipse, Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps), Mischievous (My Minds Eye from Clear Dollar Stamps)
Inks/Markers: Memento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Hot Cocoa Palette Ink (Clear Dollar Stamps), Copics YR07 Tangelo Smoothie, Y17 Bee Pollen, E31Toasted Almond (from Clear Dollar Stamps)
Accents/Tools:Windmill SVG/PDF (Clear Dollar Stamps), Designer Label Dies (Clear Dollar Stamps), Night Eclipse ribbon (Clear Dollar Stamps), Score Tape (from Clear Dollar Stamps), SCAL, Cricuit Expression, Cuttlebug, CB Houndstooth embossing folder, Dauber (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Sponge, Screw brad, Scotch dimensional tape, dimensional glaze, safety pin
Techniques:Treat box, tag, sponging, dry embossing, SVG

My sample here is using today's New SVG Release BARREL SVG/PDF Designed by Stacy Morgan

I scored all my cut out pieces every 1/2 inch using my Scor-Pal. I used three of larger outside bands that go around the barrel instead of only two and omitted the smaller ones. I layered three on top of each other after I scored them and then put five mini gold brads spaced evenly through the bands.

I used the digital image AUTUMN BLESSINGS for the pumpkin and sentiment. I printed out five pumpkins the size I wanted and colored only the parts I needed, cut out, sponged the edges with Hot Cocoa Palette Ink and popped up. I cut around the pumpkin and stem only for the base. After all the layering I cut out the three leaves from the last pumpkin image and placed them over the vine areas on the pumpkin and the top leaf on the right. Then I printed out the sentiment on Cottonball White cardstock and popped up behind the pumpkin at an angle.

RECIPE:
Stamps/Images: Autumn Blessings Digital Image (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Cardstock/Papers:Worn Parchment, Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Inks/Markers: Printer, Hot Cocoa Palette Ink (Clear Dollar Stamps), Copics Y17 Bee Pollen, YR07 Tangelo Smoothie, R29 Strawberry Jam, YG95 Ripe Olive (from Clear Dollar Stamps)
Accents/Tools:Barrel SVG (Clear Dollar Stamps), Mini Gold Brads (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Score Tape (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Spring Leaf Ribbon (Clear Dollar Stamps), Dauber (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Scotch dimensional tape, Scor-Pal, Cricuit Expression, SCAL

Clean And Simple Challenge #136

Guess What we did today? We visited a local college campus with our son who is graduating from HS this year. Scary. We will be empty nesters. Yikes. It was a very enjoyable experience today. Love to see Alek's excitement for his future.

Leaves! Yes leaves. That is the theme for this week's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE #136. This is one of my favorite challenges and I make an effort to play in it every week.

So here is what I came up with for the challenge. I used PAPER SMOOCHES set HANG UPS. The word "hi" comes swoopy like this...I just stamped the large leaves against the swoop. I colored them on the white cardstock then I stamped five more leaves on separate white cardstock, colored them, cut them, sponged their edges and popped them up. Simple. Just added a clear crystal sticker to the dot on the "i" for the finishing touch.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:Hang Ups (Paper Smooches)
PAPER:Cottonball White, Worn Parchment (Clear Dollar Stamps)
INK:Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Copics Y17, R29, YR07, E37, BG15
ACCESSORIES:Spellbinders Nestabilities Circls Labels, Scotch demensional tape, Tim Holtz Blending Tool
TECHNIQUES:Distressing, CAS

NEW OCTOBER DIGIS

Wait til you see this month's NEW DIGIS at CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

I love Fall...don't you?! I just had to play with these digis the moment I laid my eyes on them. My first sample is using the set SUNSHINE & SMILES. Just the name makes me smile.

I worked in Microsoft Publisher and inserted my image. Then I clicked on the little tool bar that appears on the page when you are clicked on your image. I selected Wash Out. That gave me the light grey. Then I inserted my sentiment over the top and kept it black. I used the png images so I could layer.

I printed the image again in black and colored, cut out, sponged and popped up just the sunflowers and two leaves.

RECIPE:
Stamps/Images: Sunshine Smiles (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Cardstock/Papers:Cottonball White, Night Eclipse (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Inks/Markers:Printer, Tim Holtz Distress Inks Broken China, Walnut Stain, Copics Y17, YR31, YR23, G85, YG95, E29 (from Clear Dollar Stamps)
Accents/Tools:Spellbinders Nestabilities Picot Labels, Cuttlebug, Tim Holtz Blending Tool, Scotch dimensional tape
Techniques:Spellbinder Shape Card, Sponging

This sample uses the NEW RELEASE SWEET & SPICY. Another great set and title by Deedee.

Again I put my images and sentiments where I wanted them using text boxes in Microsoft Publisher. I washed out the sentiments just like I did in my first card.

For the paper pieced apple. I copy and pasted an apple and printed it out. Then I cut a small piece of my patterned paper, put removable tape on the back and placed it right over the apple. Then ran it through the printer again...so the printer prints the apple on the patterned paper. Sooooooooooo cool. I use this tecnique all the time. Great way to use small pieces of paper.

I cut out my apple, sponged the edges and popped up. I did the same for the leaf.

RECIPE:
Stamps/Images: Sweet & Spicy (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Cardstock/Papers:Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps), My Minds Eye Collections 12 Days Of Christmas and Everyday Flair (from Clear Dollar Stamps)
Inks/Markers: Printer, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Copic D29 (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Gelly Roll white gel pen
Accents/Tools:Computer, Removable tape, Scotch dimensional tape, Tim Holtz Blending Tool, Scor-Pal
Techniques:Sponging, Digital

Now you can see all the New Releases on the CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS BLOG.

Free For All and Paper Smooches GD Search

Guess what I had today? I had my first GALA apple of the season today. Oh it was crisp and juicy just the way I like it. Yummy. Soon Jamba Juice will have their pumpkin smoothies. Oh they are delightful. Maybe you are going "YUCK" but I love 'em. Fall is my favorite season.

So I am back today with another entry for PAPER SMOOCHES OCTOBER GUEST DESIGNER SEARCH. I bought this set FOLKal POINTS for this matryoshka doll. I love Matryoshka dolls...I have over 30 of them thanks to my family and friends. Finally I inked her up and used a designer sketch from the PAPER SMOOCHES BLOG as my inspiration.

The hearts I used for the background are in the FOLKal POINTS set too. I just put both sizes on my acrylic block and altered the position as I stamped. For the sentiment background I used ALPHADOT from PAPER SMOOCHES as well. I just laid out the letters touching and pressed my acrylic block to them to pick them up. I went for a carefree look.

When I saw today's FREE FOR ALL CHALLENGE....PAPER PIECING I decided to play and use my doll stamp. After I paper pieced her I ran her through my Cuttlebug using the Houndstooth EB folder then ran her face only through and attached with dimensional tape. She makes me smile...that is why I chose my sentiment.

RECIPE:
STAMPS:FOLKal Points, Alphadot (Paper Smooches)
PAPER:Cottonball White, Night Eclipse (Clear Dollar Stamps), Playground, Summer Days and Country Drive Collections (Echo Park)
