Guest Designer - Miss You Bird

I am so happy to be Guest Designer on the

 Inspired By All The Little Things Challenge this week. 

And look at this sweet inspiration photo for this week's challenge #51. 

I took my inspiration from the little birdies. 

I wanted to make a card with a chubby yellow bird after seeing the inspiration. 

I made a OLC by stamping this bird off the side of the card and just built around him with my Copic colored landscaping and washi embellishment.  This guy is so easy to color. I used Copics: YR23, Y21, Y17, W1, W3, W5, C00, C0, C1, V01, V04, V06, YR02, YR04, YR07, YG21, YG23, YG25, BG000.

Splitcoaststampers April Fools Virtual Stamping Night

I am hostessing a challenge for the Splitcoaststampers April Fools Virtual Stamping Night.

 My challenge is to make a Gate Fold Latch Card.

I love making these.  First, I made a gate fold card by cutting a 11 x 8 1/2" and scoring at 2 3/4 and 8 1/4 along the long side. Just fold it up and it makes a gate fold card. Next, I cut a piece of pattern paper from Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 and adhered to the bottom of the card front.  Next I used SugarPea Designs SugarCut - Zig Zag Stitched Circles to cut out my two circles die cutting through two pieces of paper for each, the frame and the inner circle.  It did not cut through both pieces of cardstock, so I separated them and ran the second through alone to cut all the way through.  I adhered the two frames and inners together to make one of each. This makes the latch more durable when opening and closing. 

I drew a line on the white circle panel
then masked off the line with painters tape and sponged a little bit of a background using Ranger Distress Oxide Broken China and Mini Ink Blending Tool.  Then I used Lawn Fawn's Hoppy Easter Stamp Set and Hoppy Easter Lawn Cuts to stamp and die cut my bunny and five carrots.  I used Copics: C0, C1, C3, W1, W3, W5, YR02, YR04, YR07, YG21, YG23, YG25, R20, R22 to color them up and pop them up on my card using foam dots.

Here comes the latch part.

To make the latch, I took the circle frame centered it and attached it to my card front using foam tape ONLY ON THE TOP HALF.  Then I took my center circle and attached it with foam tape ONLY ON THE BOTTOM HALF.  That makes the latch. To open you gently squeeze the ends to loosen the latch.

Car Load Of Birthday Wishes

Color Throwdown Challenge #436 and Lawnfawnatics Challenge #1

I am combining my GD Color Throwdown card this week with the brand new Lawn Fawn Challenge Lawnfawnatics Challenge #1 Happy Birthday.

So I used Lawn Fawn's Chit Chat and Home for the Holidays Stamp and Home For The Holidays Lawn Cut. 

I used a ruler and pen to draw a line to ground my image and add a little interest.  I sponged a little background with Ranger Distress Oxide Ink Fossilized Amber and Mini Blending Tool 1" Round.  I stamped my sentiment from Chit Chat with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  Then I stamped up all my images and colored in the gifts and car then popped them up on my card front. I used a white gel pen to add some detail to my presents.

I just had to have it, Say Yes To The Donuts by Neat & Tangled and this beautiful paper pack Hello Gorgeous by My Minds Eye from my sweet and talented friend Annette Allen's new online store, Drive By Crafts. 

 I wanted to use this sentiment and draw attention to the sprinkles on the donut.
So I used my 0.1 black Staedtler pen to make larger sprinkles expanding on the ones already on the donut.
