Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge #21

It is Friday! That means it is time for the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge at Paper Craft Planet: http://www.papercraftplanet.com/group/cleardollarstampsllcweekendcolorchallenge/forum. I am your hostess. Yay. So I got to choose the fun, summery and bright color combo. Check it out. Not a member of PCP? Don't worry, it is easy, just join then go to this link above and join the group then come back and play. EASY.

So for my card, I wanted to try a new way of using this set LILY OF THE VALLEY (MAY'S FLOWER OF THE MONTH) by Clear Dollar Stamps LLC: http://www.newcleardollarstamps.com/servlet/StoreFront This idea popped into my head last week when I was staring at this set. I thought, hey I can mask that off and just use that tall middle stem of the flower and have it in a vase. Then I remembered this card I saw in the gallery by CheeseheadInCA :http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1197319. This card was my inspiration.

This card is pretty much explanatory. It is a standard A2 card. The three panels are black (3 1/2 x 1 1/2) White (3 3/8 x 1 3/8). That leaves a 3/8" margin. For the vases, I cut my paper to the width 1 5/8 (1/8" shorter than my punch size). Then I punched the oval out, using the punch upside down so I could see that I was even on both sides. The result is that the tips of the oval are flat (evenly flat because I cut the width first with a paper trimmer). You can punch first and use scissors to cut a skinny tip off from both ends but it will not be perfectly straight if you don't mind that. I stamped my versamark ink pad on top of each oval, covered with clear embossing powder and used heat tool to make look shiny.

I love these wonderful colorful flowers! Your card is precious. Such a bright and cheerful card and a great card to showcase the chosen colors. Beautiful.

I thought I could do your challenge before the deadline but I am not sure I have any Clear Dollar stamps. Maybe I need to spend some time on their website. Congrats on being the challenge hostess!

I'm not a bold bright person but I really did enjoy this challenge. You are such a great hostess... greeting everyone... it was great! Thanks for all your time!
