Using Martha Stewart's New Happy Birthday Deep Edge Border Punch
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED:Rock OnUsing Martha Stewart's New Happy Birthday Deep Edge Border Punch
It has been awhile since I have participated in Roxie's Sketch Challenge, so I was happy to have been able to participate in this one. When I first saw the sketch, I thought "What am I gonna do with that?" The more I thought about it, I knew what I was going to do. I made this card for my eldest son's 20th birthday. Hard to believe his is going to be 20. Yikes.
What I did: First I used this awesome new release ROCK ON from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS. My son's favorite color is green, so I started there and the rest fell into place. My card is 5" square. I felt a square card worked better proportionally with Roxie's sketch. I stamped the drum set onto a 3" square of white CS and colored it with Bic Mark-It markers. These are my Copic Substitutes until I get the Copic Sets. Then I stamped it again on another white CS and cut out only the three drums with the yellow on them and put micro brads in the drum brackets and masked the ROCK ON sentiment so I could stack it inside the circle on the big drum. It worked beautifully. I loved the results. It just needed something, so I used my blending tool and sponged Tim Holtz Dimensional Ink Vintage photo on the edges. Then I popped it up with dimensionals and finished it with dimensional glaze. IRL it shines nicely.
I made my panels and sponged them too with the Vintage Photo. I just love this new Martha Stewart Happy Birthday Punch. It is called a DEEP EDGE border punch. It works great. I visited Michaels today and just HAD TO have it. I am sure my DH will understand. I am using all my will power not to go back and buy all the others. Oh my goodness. Help!
The Photo corner is a new Martha Stewart Corner punch too. it is so cool. It is punch and scored at the same time. You pull it apart from your paper, fold the edges back and tape in place. So cool. It stands off the paper by 1/16". Awesome. I love you Martha
