Clean And Simple Autumn DT Search

These are the cards I made for the CAS Autumn DT Search. There were three challenges to choose from, you could do one or all and as many times as you like. The search is now closed and new DT members will be notified Sept 1st.

CASDT09FALL01
The above card is the one I made for the sketch challenge. I went digital for all these cards. I love being able to manipulate text and the image to the size and angle I want.
WHAT I DID: I used Microsoft Publisher blank document. I opened a text box and made it the size of my card but not on the edge of the paper size. If I made it on the edge my image, even though it is off the side would print out with a little gap of blank page rather than clean off the page. I opened two other text boxes, one for my flower and one for my text. I angled my flower and enlarged it to the size I wanted.
I printed the flower out once on the blue paper, and three times more on my patterned paper. I cut out just the flower top twice and just the flower center once. I glued down one flower with two way glue. Then the second one I adhered only at the flower center, so the leaves can pull up for dimension and effect. I cut out the last flower, only the center this time and adhered with a dimensional.
Lastly I covered the flower with dimensional glaze because I wanted it to shine and stand out and boy does it. I like it. At the top of the card, for the part of the sketch that had a ribbon going across, I paper pierced and faux stitched using a gel pen.
RECIPE:
STAMPS: NONE Fonts: DB Frilly Words, DB Cutesie Doodles (Scrapnfonts.com)
INK: Printer, White Gelly Roll Pen
PAPER: Black(The Paper Company), Summer Sky (ANW Crestwood), Salsa Paperz (Junkitz)
ACCESSORIES: Paper Piercer, Mouse Pad, Dimensional Glaze (Inkessentials), Dimensional
CASDT09FALL02
The above card is for the monochramatic w/a twist challenge. It was to use browns with a tiny bit of red.
WHAT I DID: I made a skinny card base with the brown 3 1/4 x 5 3/4. The chocolate sqares are 5/8" with three rows of them. For the wrapper, white CS that I ran through the printer after using Microsoft Word to create the text. I love copy and paste. I cut the top at an angle with the Deckle edged scissors and punched the bottom corners. Who doesn't love chocolate?!
RECIPE:
STAMPS:NONE Font: CK Elusive (Scrapnfonts.com)
INK: Printer
PAPER: Espresso (The paper Company), Westcoast Hyper White CS
ACCESSORIES: Dimensionals, Small Corner Punch, Fiskars Deckle Edging Scissors
CASDT09FALL03
This card is for the theme challenge. I chose Christmas
WHAT I DID: I used Microsoft Word using two different text fonts and got as close to the lights as I could. Then I colored them in with markers and used dimensional glaze on top for the shine and a little dimensional.
RECIPE:
STAMPS:NONE Fonts: LD Hallmark, DB Christmas Fun Doodles, CK Script (Scrapnfonts.com)
INK:Printer, Bic Mark-It Markers
PAPER:Black, White (DCWV), Berry (The Paper Company)
ACCESSORIES:Dimensionals, Ribbon (Joanns), White Gel Pen, Dimensional Glaze, X-acto blade

Oh My Goodness!

My sweet friend Rachel aka Gingerbread Gal nominated me for this award. How very sweet, as is her creations and her blog. I really don't feel deserving, as I am just starting my blog, but I'm very thankful for friends.

Here's what the recipient of this award is to do:

Seven Things

about me people might find interesting:

1. I was scared to start my own blog (thank you Dawn for the helpful push).

2. Because I hardly had any hair as a child I was mistaken for a boy until about age 8. (Yeah, laugh it up)

3.I have always drawn, doodled, colored and enjoyed crafts from a very young age.

4. When I was twelve, I put in 1/2 cup salt instead of 1/2 teaspoon into my chocolate chip cookie batter (not even my dog would touch those things).

5.I love CSI shows.

6. I enjoy the same music as my teenage sons.

Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday #61

Yes, you heard me right. It was Miss Scarlet (see the red wallpaper, red decor and of course red chrries), in the Kitchen (her famous homemade Scarlet cherry pie is cooling in the kitchen window), with a rope (she is sly using the rope that is disguised and home decor Oh and I know you're wondering how she could be strong enough, well she has been secretly working out on her Bowflex, Uh huh).

What am I talking about? Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Teapaparty of course. This week we are solving a murder mystery CLUE style. Follow me: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453140&page=3 (Scroll down to post 87 for current details)

I used this adorable new CHERRY PIE CLEAR INCH STAMP from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS: http://www.cleardollarstamps.com/pro...02&cat=105

I am excited to be using RAK from one of my BEST friends on SCS KRIS (krischir). She sent me this top note that I made to look like a kitchen window with shutters. Thank you KRIS. HUG.

WHAT I DID: I folded the side points of the top note shape to the center. This makes the shutters of my window. I cut out a rectangle of white for the window area. And paper toled the pie. Then added pierced dots for the steam. On the pie, I stamped it once on the white window , then four more times on white textured CS. I colored each then cut out one whole and adhered that to the window white with dimensionals, then I cut out another whole pie and adhered with two way glue to the pie on the window. I sponged distress ink on the blue pie plate area. Next I cut out the top of the pie and sponged it and adhered. Then I cut out only the cherries, no leaves or stems) and lightly distressed and adhered. I cut out leaves only and adhered to the white window. I then put dimensional glaze on the cherries, leaves, pie holes and pie plate. I love how it turned out.

I distressed the DP then pierced holes and handstitched with red floss. For the rope, I put eyelets in all four corners then adhered the hemp to the back after threading through.

I pierced holes in between the slits on the top note die cut and hand stitched in red. Then I adhered the top note die center to the card leaving the sides to fold toward the front for shutters. I used dimensionals to adhere the white window.

Thank you for visiting.

RECIPE:

Stamps: Cherry Pie Clear Inch Stamp (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Paper: Neenah Solar White, White (DCWV), Junebug (Basic Grey form Clear Dollar Stamps), Brown #1 (DCWV)
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Bic Mark-It Markers, Bashful Blue (Stampin Up), Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo
Accessories: Small corner punch, Paper Piercer, Piercing Mat, Dimensional Glaze (Inkessentials), 3/16" hole punch, Flower Eyelets and Eyelet Setter (Eyelets etc.), Floss, Needle, Sponge, Tim Holtz Blending Tool, Hemp (from Clear Dollar Stamps)

Clean And Simple Challenge #29

This is my card for yesterday's Clean and Simple Challenge:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...d.php?t=455339

I took my inspiration from the cute pair of red shoes on page 4 of New Arrivals (even my DH said Oh that's a nice shoe).

I used this adorable new release NICE NEIGHBORHOOD from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS LLC: http://www.cleardollarstamps.com/

WHAT I DID: I stamped the middle house first centered near the bottom, then stamped the other two lining up straight. I have an acrylic block that has a grid on it, this helped to line it up. I stamped another house on white CS, colored it red in places, and cut it out. Before adhering my red house with dimensionals I sponged. First I cut out a rectangle that was smaller than the width of the card using my coluzzles. This gave me a template, using what was left after taking the rectangle out. I held this down where I wanted it, highlighting my middle house, and sponged using first bashful blue (wasn't strong enough for me) so then I sponged over it with Pacific Point (I liked that better). Then I adhered my red house using dimensionals. Finished it off with my skinny ribbon along the fold and tied in a knot at the top.

Thank you for visiting.

RECIPE:

Stamps: Nice Neighborhood (Clear Dollar Stamps LLC)
Paper: White (DCWV)
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Pacific Point (Stampin Up), Bic Mark-It Markers
Accessories: 1/8" black satin ribbon (Michaels), Coluzzle, Sponge, Dimensionals

Featured Stamper Challenge #133

This is my card for yesterday's Featured Stamper Challenge: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...d.php?t=455188

I so enjoyed going through Joanne's (aka jojot )gallery. Boy I had about five chosen and I narrowed it down to this card:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p;ppuser=48584

Changes:

Put ribbon on right side only and added a tag

Paper Pierced around BG panel

Popped up flower with dimensionals

Stamped flourishes on one panel

Used DP instead of Embossing BG

Sponging

I used this pretty new release PANSY from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS LLC: http://www.cleardollarstamps.com/

WHAT I DID:

I followed Joanne's sketch, although I moved the two panels a little closer together leaving an even spacel all around the outside. I stamped the flourish that comes with this set partially in the upper left corner of the left panel. I did not have the oval nestie so I used my coluzzle and cut out two ovals, on just larger than the other in White CS. The larger one I trimmed to give a thin border. On the smaller oval I stamped the pansy. With a q-tip swap I rubbed blue chalk just around the edges of the leaves and flower. Then I stamped the pansy two more times on white CS. I colored the flower and cut out and popped up. Then colored the leaves on the second and cut out and glued directly to the oval trimming off the excess. Then I sponged some distress ink on the edges of the small oval and the other panel edges. I popped up the two bg panels and the small oval onto the larger white oval. To get the scallop border on the larger oval, I adhered the oval to black paper and cut a border using edging scissors.

Thank you for visiting.

RECIPE:

Stamps: Pansy (Clear Dollar Stamps LLC)
Paper: Black (DCWV), Gypsy Baby Collection (K&Company), Westcoast Hyper White CS
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo, Stazon Jet Black, Basic Black (Stampin Up), Bic Mark-It Markers
Accessories: Fiskars Scallop Edging Scissors, Coluzzle, Tim Holtz Blending Tool, Marvy scallop corner punch, Dimensionals, 3/16" hole punch, Safety pin (Scrap Essentials from Joanns), Sheer Ribbon (dollar store), paper piercer, ruler, New label punch (Stampin Up)

Hostess' Choice

I enjoyed hostessing the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge at Paper Craft Planet: http://www.papercraftplanet.com/forum/topics/clear-dollar-stamps-weekend-16?groupUrl=cleardollarstampsllcweekendcolorchallenge&id=2076575%3ATopic%3A643408&groupId=2076575%3AGroup%3A164766&page=5#comments

I folded my card in half 4 3/4 x 5 1/2 with the fold on top. Then I cut out using the coluzzle and the largest circle. Then I cut another circle from White CS and brayered Pretty in Pink. Then I sponged Real Red on the bottom half over the pink and then sponged some pink to bled the top to bottom. I then adhered this to the base.

Next, I stamped the partial flower and sentiment. I then brayered and sponged like the top on white cs and stamped the flower only three more times and cut out different parts from each and adhered in a stack to the flower on the card.

I then added the finished touches, stickles, knotted ribbon, dew drops and rhinestones.

Thank you for visiting.

Clean And Simple Challenge #28

This is my card for yesterday's Clean And Simple MASCULINE Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=454179

I chose these sets SWEET SYMPHONY, SHEET MUSIC from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS:http://www.cleardollarstamps.com/

WHAT I DID: First my base is 4 1/2 square from white CS. I stamped the two lines from the Sheet Music set all over the white card base and clear embossed.

Next, I knew I wanted these sqares with the circle cut out, I'm sure there is an easier way, but what I did was cut out a 3 3/4" square from each color brown, green orange and blue. Then, I used my coluzzle to cut out the 4th circle from the outside from each square centering it. Then I cut each large square with the circle cut out from the center into fourths, using one from each color and centered on the paper and popped up with dimensionals. I sponged each square with that color and pierced the outside edges.

For the saxaphone, I stamped it in the center of the circle with chocolate chip, then two times on the patterned paper. I cut out the first saxaphone from the DP completely, the second I cut out the piece in the dip of the saxaphone. I then sponged the edges of both. With markers, I colored the top saxaphone in certain areas using three different browns. I then used dimensionals to adhere the first saxapone on top of the stamped image on the card, then used dimensionals again on top of that to adhere the second one. I finished by using dimensional glaze on it.

For the note, I punched out a 1" circle and stamped the note in the center in chocolate chip. I used two dimensionals on top of each other and adhered in the circle with part that did not have dimensionals on it overlapping the colored squares.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on white, then used one of the cut out circles to trace with pencil under the sentiment. I cut along the lines and cut straight around the other parts. I adhered it leaving a little of the colored square showing. I paper pierced the bottom and hand stitched with brown thread and used a brass brad.

Thank you for visiting.

Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge #32/ Featured Stamper Challenge #132

Alex hostessed this week and her colors were: Chocolate Chip, Teal, Vanilla and Optional Pink

Thanks Alex, great colors even though I finished my card late!!!

This is also my card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...d.php?t=454004
My changes:
Mattes
Colors
Same theme different image
Ribbon on clip
Switched image and tearing to opposite sides
Added sewing

I used these new releases SWEET SYMPHONY, SHEET MUSIC from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS LLC:http://www.cleardollarstamps.com/

What I did: First I let my sewn ends of thread hang on the card like I saw Shawne do (I liked it-thanks for the inspiration Shawne) check out her gallery:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?si=shawn-eindiangirl

I stamped the sheet music to the back panel, then crinkled it and sponged with distress ink. Then I sewed it onto the mat without adhering first, it moved a bit as I sewed it, giving it a more whimsical look. I stamped the violin on a seperate piece of paper and adhered with removeable tape so I could stamp the sheet music behind the violin. While I had the mask on, I chalked the blue. I used dimensional glaze on the violin to make it shiny, like a violin.

Thanks for looking.

NICE NEIGHBORHOOD

This is my card using this new release NICE NEIGHBORHOOD from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS LLC:http://www.newcleardollarstamps.com/servlet/StoreFront

I just love this new paper from Basic Grey; JuneBug. I bought the collection pack from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS and what a pleasant surprise to discover IT IS DOUBLE SIDED. Score! yay. I love double sided paper especially Basic Grey.

WHAT I DID: I stamped and embossed my house on watercolor paper in Not Quite Navy. Then I had fun with Tombow markers using my aqua pen. Here is a link to a great tutorial:http://clearlyistamp.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/04/tombow-water-color-markers.html I learned that I can get different colors by using more than one color. So for the house the red by itself looked pink so I used drew a line on the inside of the edge first then went right on top of it with the red, then I used my aqua pen like in the tutorial to draw the color out and got a deeper red. I used yellow and green for the color of green I wanted. I also went over the orange with brown on the door, because it was not dark enough. Then I went around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo using his blending tool. I liked that look it gave the house. Before making these changes, I was ready to scrap this card but I walked away and came back with fresh eyes and now I like it. I used my new EK border punch that is a Christmas punch; Icicles, from Joanns. I used it for grass. Works, huh?! I love punches that have multiple uses. The ribbon I chose just pops from this card and adds some spice. I like it. It just happened to be on the table from my last card and hey, it looked good, to me, at least. Hee Hee. For the sentiment, I stamped the words one at a time, I had to mask off Home for "sweet" then I just whimsically cut with scissors around the words. I had a hard time arranging them the way I liked so I just dropped them on there and this is what I came up with and liked it. Funny huh!

Thank you for visiting me today.

My Pig Card On Scrapnfonts Site

Monday evening I went to scrapnfonts.com to browse their fonts for anything with "bees" for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday where the theme was bees. Imagine my surprise when I recognized my pig card that I had made in June and uploaded to the scrapnfonts idea gallery (because I used scrapnfonts products to create it). Wow! I was so delighted! I love using scrapnfonts fonts and doodlebats. Check them out www.scrapnfonts.com (they also have free fonts on occasion).

I am on my way to Booneville Mississippi to enjoy some fresh raw honey with Uncle Beeford, The Beeford Bumble Boys , Cindy and my fellow teaparty girls. Come follow me to Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday: http://mothermark.blogspot.com/searc...uesday%20Cards

I BEE Happy because I get to have fresh, raw honey in my chamomile tee. So yes, I am happy as can BEE. Unless the bumble boys fly over to me carrying some stamps for me, than I guess I would BEE happier. Hee.

WHAT I DID: I was inspired by this card by Stacy (Twinshappy): http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1322505?&si=twinshappy
First I chose font: CK Buddies for the word happy and then LDJ Beesting for B-Day! I printed that off on white CS. For the honey comb paper, I cut out honey comes from scrap, sponged them with the Distress Ink and adhered. I liked the look. I sponged the rest of the card as well. I colored the bees with bic Mark-it markers and used dimensional glaze. You cannot tell in the pic. I love the glaze by Inkessentials. It dries nice and hard and raised. I love it. Then I layered my ribbons. And threw in some wine ribbon for a little pop. That's it.

Stamps: NONE Fonts: CK Buddies, LDJ Beesting (Scrapnfonts)
Paper: Black (DCWV), Urban Prairie Collection (Basic Grey), Westcoast Hyper White
Ink: Printer, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo, bic Mark-It Markers
Accessories: Tim Holtz Blender Tool, Button (Basic Grey), Ribbon, Dimensional Glaze, Dimensionals

I knew this new release would be perfect; ASTER-SEPTEMBER FLOWER OF THE MONTH from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS:http://www.newcleardollarstamps.com/servlet/StoreFront

I was inspired by this card by Faith (markie's mom): http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1440976

WHAT I DID: I stamped the flowers twice, once in the circle and once on another piece of white CS. I cut out only the flower tops and cut some of the petals to the center and pulled them forward for dimension. I popped them up with dimensionals and placed the gems in the center for my bling. The blue gem stickers were a great find at Big Lots for $2. This is my first time using them. I love how they look here.

Thank you for Visiting me today!

Clean And Simple Challenge #26 and Sketch Challenge #240

This card is for this week's Clean And Simple Stitching Challenge at Splitcoaststampers: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=451651

I knew immediately I wanted to use the punny new release HANGING OUT from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS LLC: http://www.newcleardollarstamps.com/servlet/StoreFront

First I stamped the clothes line in black then I paper pierced the line and with two strands of DMC black floss I stitched across.

This card is also for yesterday's Sketch Challenge #240 at Splitcoaststampers: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=451996

I kept the card black and white. So for the circle, I used my coluzzle to make a ring for the circle in the sketch and for the back panel, I used the EK circles border punch that I bought at Michaels in Bakersfield (don't have this one at my local Michaels).

I used this striped ribbon to add some color and added a bit of black ribbon to keep with the black and masculine since this card is for my son. I used different sized brads in the punched border circles for the finishing touch.

My son's favorite color is green thus the green briefs which I watercolored with Tombow markers on watercolor paper.

Thank you for visiting.

STAMPS: Hanging Out (Clear Dollar Stamps LLC), PAPER: West Coast Hyper White CS, Black (DCWV), Watercolor INK: Pacific Point (Stampin Up), Stazon Jet Black, Tombow Earth Set Markers, ACCESSORIES: DMC black floss, Paper Piercer, Needle, EK border punch, Striped ribbon (American Crafts from Michaels), Black Ribbon (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Micro brad (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Mini brad (Joanns), Medium brad (Michaels), Sponge, Aqua pen, Dimensionals, Coluzzle

I love seeing the diffent Clear Dollar Stamps used. Some of the ones I saw this weekend was Harriet hippo, a relaxing monkey, lovely flowers in a vase, cute Simon the kitty and a few kinds of Charlies. They make me want them all. (My husband would just love that). Hee.

Welcome to Kimberly Ault. This was your first challenge? I chose your card below as hostess' choice. I love how you used what colors you had and even created your own sage shadow on the embossed panel. Isn't it lovely?! I love that more mustard nestie border Kim. Love how it is offset on your card. You also went for the optional challenge and added bit of copper, in your coil. Very nice. thank you so much for joining us and see you next time, hopefully.

Thank you Grace and Laurie for visiting and thank you Karen, Pamela, Kim, Kris, Tricia, Cassie, Carol, Sarah, Lori, Chrisi, Dawn and Wendy for playing this weekend. See you next weekend.
