Clean And Simple Challenge #138

What did you do for WORLD CARD MAKING DAY? I went to a college football game then got caught up in my son's homecoming. I got really cute pictures! I sadly did not make a card on WCMD. I would love to hear what you did!

Yep, it's time for this week's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE #138 on Splitcoaststampers. It's a sketch challenge based on THIS card by Cibele aka elmo98ca.

My card is also for the TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS challenge Emboss It.

I used this adorable squirrel from this quarter's new releases called SQUIRREL CHATTER from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

WHAT I DID: I stamped my squirrel four times on this light grey text paper from the EVERYDAY FLAIR collection by MY MINDS EYE. I cut my squirrels are follows:
1. Cut out entire squirrel
2. Cut out squirrel minus his tail.
3. Cut out squirrel minus his tail, legs and feet.
4. Cut out only the squirrel's head.

I then sponged the edges of each using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain and the Tim Holtz blender tool. I adhered each piece in order except the head.

Then I stamped the acorn part of the squirrel on the orange paper and one squirrel on the blue checkered paper in the collection and cut out only the acorn from the orange and just the acorn top from the blue. Sponged them and adhered them onto the squirrel.

I ran the squirrel through my Cuttlebug using the Houndstooth embossing folder by Cuttlebug. I then separately ran the squirrels head through the cuttlebug next and attached to the body using dimensional tape. That is how I got my dimension without using a lot of dimensional tape on the squirrel.

RECIPE:
Stamps/Images: Squirrel Chatter (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Cardstock/Papers:Worn Parchment, Cottonball White (Clear Dollar Stamps), Everyday Flair (My Minds Eye from Clear Dollar Stamps)
Inks/Markers: Memento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain, ZIG Mellennium black .05 pen, Copics B00, R20, RV000, Blender (from Clear Dollar Stamps)
Accents/Tools:Scotch dimensional tape, Tim Holtz Blender Tool, Cuttlebug, CB Houdstooth Embossing Folder
Techniques:Faux Stitching, Paper Tole, Dry Embossing, Distressing

THANK YOU FOR VISITING TODAY. ENJOY YOUR DAY.

Hi Lisa, this is just so cute! How clever you always are. Love the gigham paper - so homey! Then totally love how you textured this adorable little guy. I'm with you did family stuff on sat. I'll excuse you and you can excuse me! Family time will always beat making card time. When kids get as old as ours family time gets less and less! =)So glad you enjoyed your day!
Hugs, Sarah
