LANCE CORPORAL LARA
I have good news and I got it straight from the horse's mouth. I just got off the phone with one of my favorite people in the whole wide world, my son. He was promoted to Lance Corporal today. Apparently it is a tradition that once you are pinned that your fellow Marines punch you on your pin. So the pin gouges into your collar bone. Ouch. Yep, welcome to manhood, I guess. So, I am a proud mommy and very happy to have heard from my son (he called all on his own). What a good boy (okay, he's a MAN but he'll always be my BOY!) Just wanted to share the news.

Lisa, congrats to your son! That sounds painful, but I suppose they endure a lot more pain than that being Marines. He can still be your little boy. My mom says my brother is her little boy. He is 52 years old and 6'7"! LOL! Woo-hoo for your son!
This must have made your heart sing. I am so glad he called and congrats on his promotion. I agree about those "little" boys. I have one too. They are special. Ouch about the pin. Such a manly thing...hugs.
Well ouch! But good for him. Congrats Lisa on a great son.
