Inspiration Challenge #212

Yay! I got to play in today's Inspiration Challenge. I chose this toy chest for my inspiration.

I used a flexible ruler to make the curves in the bottom of the card. I wanted bubbles from the CB folder for my octopi. I stamped and cut out my octopi and then sponged with the only orange. The EK punch worked perfect so I could tangle the octopi arms in it. I sponged some brilliant blue on the blue edges and on the front, for dimension.

I just love this cute Ozzie Octopus and Heard You Have Your Arms Full from Clear Dollar Stamps.

Thank you so much for visiting me today! I hope you were inspired.

Clean And Simple Challenge #46

Card with Country CD Inside

Inside view

Happy Monday everyone. I am happy to play in today's Clean And Simple (CAS) Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. It is a sketch challenge based on this card by Itecler. So I decided to incorporate this sketch by putting a tag on my CD card. I used the new releases COWBOY BOOT, COWBOY HAT and RAILROAD MEMORIES from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

For my card I cut a piece of cardstock 5"x11 5/8. Scored at 5 and 6" along long end. Then I stamped the boot and hat all over in white. I cut out a circle with my coluzzle and stamped my boots overlapping. Then stamped two again separately on white cardstock and sponged them with red ink. I adhered the back one with two-way glue and the closer one with dimensionals after I sponged more mustard. From Railroad Memories set I used the sentiment "For You" and masked the you and stamped for then masked the for and stamped the you to curve along the edge like the sketch. I taped the cd to the back of the card with removable tape.

Thank you for visiting me today.

RECIPE:
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED:Cowboy Boot, Cowboy Hat, Railroad Memories
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS:Westcoast Hyper White, Black (DCWV)
INK:Momento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Real Red, Whisper White, More Mustard (Stampin Up)
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS:Coluzzle, Sponge, Masking Tape, Dimensional, 1/2" circle punch, Satin Ribbon

Curvy Candles

Yay, I got to play in today's Clean And Simple (CAS) Challenge "I've Got Curves".

For my curves, I tore my DP and then stamped my candles following its curve. I used a new release CANDLE TRIO and BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

This was a fun challenge to play in and complete a card quickly. I needed a belated b-day card. Oops. This sentiment says it all. Hee

Thank You for visiting me today!

Candle Trio Card Candy

Candle Trio Card Candy
Aren't these little candles cute? They are a new release called CANDLE TRIO I also used BIRTHDAY CELBRATIONS both from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

What is card candy? Card candy is handmade stickers. I made these cute candles then to the pack placed a dimensional and adhered it to a piece of acetate. It should peel off and then can be used. Fun. The piece of black has 1/4 holes punched out (behind my stickers) the acetate is behind and that is how I adhered the stickers.

Thank you for visiting me today.

Ways To Use It Challenge #248

I just had to play in today's Ways To Use It Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

The Christmas song that was my muse is Deck the Halls.
I picked out the chorus. The inside of the card finishes it with la-la-la-la. hee.

This was a fun and simple card (except a lot of tying at the top). I tied skinny ribbons to the loops and the little slits below the loops. I love the fullness and the festive look it adds to this CAS card.

For the sponging, I first sponged the Pink Passion then the real red. That finished it off nicely.

I could not have made this card without my sweet friend Dawn that sent me the border punch as RAK. Thank you Dawn.
Thanks Julia and StampGroover for this fun challenge.

Thank you for visiting me today!

RECIPE:
Stamps: NONE, fonts: LD Jumpy (from scrapnfonts.com), and Impact (from Microsoft word)
Paper: Neenah Solar White (from Clear Dollar Stamps)
Ink: Pink Passion, Real Red (Stampin Up), Printer
Accessories: Printer, computer, ribbon, Martha Stewart Around the Page LOOPS border(RAK from Dawn) and corner punches, sponge

Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge 71

Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge #71

I am so excited to be your Teapot Tuesday Hostess. Hugs and smootches to you Cindy!!! I am following some great challenges posted lately by my fellow teapartiers. Welcome to the party for you newcomers, you can visit this post for more info on the Teapot Tuesday Challenge. We are happy to have you join us. Listen to my story and play along however inspiration takes you.

My Story:
We are going to the North Pole. So get your earmuffs, scarfs, hats, winter coat, gloves, boots
and probably long johns too. Brrrr..... We are on a quest, a mission. What is it you ask?
To find out: What DO Snowmen Do at Night?

I went to the North Pole ahead of time, like a good hostess, setting everything up and plowing
a snow path so none of you would fall deep into the snow. Don't want to waste time digging you
guys out that we could spend sipping our thermos' of yummy tea and singing songs. I have talked to santa and he is letting us use a cottage just off his workshop. It is fully heated and high up so we will have a good vantage point. There are even telescopes set up in the windows. Mrs. Claus has been busy making us lots of different kinds of Christmas cookies. So no need to bring treats unless you want to bring one for Santa and Mrs. Claus to thank them for their hospitality, of course.

When I was there, you'll never believe what I saw....... Apparently there is a closed down amusement park nearby. The teacup ride was broken and in need of repair. Since it was not being used I saw the community of snowmen, one evening, carry a teacup from the ride and take turns sliding down the slope. Looked like they were having a grand time. I just had to take a picture.....when I returned home I realized it looked just like my teapot. The maker of this teapot must of seen the same thing. See.............

So....let's see what YOU think snowmen do at night. But I must tell you, you will have to come in the back door of the cottage if you bring any yellow snow. I guess hot chocolate will be allowed this one time, it is a teaparty, for goodness sakes, but I know Mrs. Claus makes a mean cup of cocoa and will probably be offended if we don't have some. Must have good manners, you know.

Here's today's teapot (a picture from the web)

Here's my card.

Clearly Inspired Challenge WINTER

VALENTINE'S MAGNETIC HEART BOOKMARK

Today's Clearly Inspired Challenge is WINTER. To make anything that has to do with winter like winter sports, holiday, weather etc. So....I chose the winter holiday Valentine's Day. And made this Valentine's magnetic heart bookmark using these adorable new releases BILLY BEE and BEE KIND from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

I made this bookmark starting with a 2 1/2x5" piece of heavy carstock. I folded it in half and made my heart by starting at the top. I found the middle and drew the line vertically down the front. From the mark at the top (along the fold) I measured 3/8 on both sides of the middle line. Then I measured 1/2 " down from the top and drew a horizontal line across. I then drew lines from each mark to the middle point at 1/2" down to form the "V" at the top. Next from the top I made a horizontal line across that was 1 1/4" from the fold. Then from the bottom middle line I measured and marked 3/8" from the middle on both sides of the line. Then I drew a line from the side mark to the bottom mark on both sides and cut making the heart! Simple. Next I cut two 2 1/2" squares of dp. I then spread double sided tape close to the edges and then placed tape side down on the dp and cut excess, repeating on the back. Next I stamped the sentiment and bee in black on the dp. Then I stamped the bee on white cardstock and watercolored, cut out adhered on top of dp and used dimensional glaze to finish off. Last step, once glaze dried, I pealed off the adhesive that came on the magnetic stamps and replaced with tacki tape (it is stronger) then I placed where I wanted. Done. Real simple and so cute.

RECIPE:
STAMPS: BILLY BEE, BEE KIND
PAPER: VALENTINE STRIPES FOIL (SANDYLION), NEENAH SOLAR WHITE (FROM CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS), CHOCOLATE CHIP (STAMPIN UP)
INK: STAZON JET BLACK, MORE MUSTARD, REALLY RUST, NOT QUITE NAVY
ACCESSORIES: HANDMADE TEMPLATE, MAGNETIC SNAPS(BASIC GREY), DIMENSIONAL GLAZE (INKESSENTIALS)
