Don't these colors just make you smile?

I immediately wanted to use this fun set That Bites from Avery Elle and matching dies. I knew the colors would work perfect for these fish and water. How cute are these fishes?! So I had some Distress Oxide Ink fun.  I am learning what these inks can do, but I must say they sponge onto my card like a dream.  So I started by sponging on my Distress Oxide Broken China ink using Ranger Mini Ink Blending tool.  Then I used the TH misting bottle and pulled the trigger half way to get my drops then I dabbed with a paper towel. I colored and cut out my  fish. I arranged them the way I wanted and ran each back through my cuttlebug to cut where they would overlap each other so they sit more smoothly on the card even though they are popped up.  

I used Glossy Accents 

to add drops to the bubbles on my card. Love how it works. I finished off with a tiny bit of washi and sentiment. Fun card to make.

Color Throwdown Challenge #433

I used this week's colors and created a simple note. 

I stamped the brush strokes in Memento's New Sprout and Distress Ink Shaded Lilac.  I just love this stamp set Watercolor Brush Strokes from SugarPea Designs.  I layered three White "Hello"s using SugarPea Designs' SugarCut - Chatterbox Journal Card. This is an easy whip up card! And I am so thankful for my MISTI with this kind of stamping.

CASology #220 w/Rosi - Coffee Junkie

Playing CASology with Rosi

Rosi and I are at it again playing in this week's

CASology Challenge #220 COFFEE. You gotta see what Rosi created HERE. 

I had a fun time inking up these two stamp sets for this challenge.  I drew my 3 1/4" square lightly in pencil first.  Then I used painters tape to mask along the bottom of the square. I used my MISTI to stmap my go cup first, masked it off then stamped the bird.  I stamped the bird again on scrap paper and cut out just his wings and popped them up after coloring. Then I went over my pencil lines with marker.

Card Details
I sponged my oval sand mound using a mask and Tim Holtz Distress Ink then I stamped my crabby and colored him in simply and just used a gray for a shadow.  I drew in lines on the flip flops and popped up the flips flops and added google eyes.

I had fun using my new goodies as August Guest Designer.  Sadly the month is coming to an end.  I had such a great time playing with Your Next Stamp goodies.  Thank you Karen, Julie and all the girls for a fantastic month. It was an honor. 

Last challenge I chose the color palette and this time I chose the sketch

for Your Next Stamp's Sketch and Color Challenge #46.  I made my card vertical and started by sponging my grass using the Wonky Scallop Edge Die to make my mask.  Then I stamped a couple rows of these cuties from Funny Farm Crew stamp set using the masking off technique and sponged the sky around them then stamped the sentiment for the top panel in the sketch.  Oh and I just had to give these guys googley eyes.

Birthday Birdbrain

Birthday Card

 I have been down with my asthma for a week

so since I cannot do much I am making cards to have on hand.  Some of my favorite images are birdbrain digis from From The Heart Stamps like this guy Birdbrain Balloon.  For the challenge below, I sponged my grass by making a mask using Lawn Fawn's Grassy Border Die.  I sponged my border on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock, then ran it back through the printer to print the sentiment.  I print out my bird and balloon, cut them apart, colored them up and popped them up making a pop up using paper (a hollow square that folds flat to mail).  I added twine for the balloon.

Happy Birthday To My Hubby

Hubby's Birthday Card. 

 I made this punny card for my husband who always makes me laugh. 

I just love this cute digi from Some Odd Girl.  I printed out Tia, colored her and cut around her leaving about a 1/16" border.  Then I sponged my paper approximately where I wanted it within the 8 1/2 x 11" paper.  Then I fed it back into the printer to print the sentiment over the sponging.  I cut out my card front and adhered it to my card base.  Then I made a pop up using paper to form a hollow square that will fold down flat when I mail.

and only used Santa's head in the corner of my card along with Big Christmas Greetings for my sentiment.  I just sponged some Tim Holtz Distress ink at the bottom.
