FREE FOR ALL CHALLENGE #9

Hi, this is my second post for today. Please scroll down to see the Clearly Inspired Challenge post. Come play.
I am so happy to say thay my feet that have been giving me problems, causing me to limp for almost 2 months are finally getting better. Yay! I am so happy. I just noticed it the last days. Not as much pain and the swelling has gone down considerably. Thank you Heavenly Father for your blessing. Now onto this post...
This is my card for today's Free For All Challenge

My most memorable vacation, is most recent. My husband and I went to Ocean Shores, WA (2-3 hours from us) for our Anniversary last September.
We flew our kite, waded in the cold water, ate salt water taffy and I visited a scrapbooking store (I could not believe they had one at this tiny tourist spot). I bought this adorable paper that I have never seen anywhere else.

So for my vacation card today, I am using the paper I bought on our last vacation.

I am also using a new release EIFFEL TOWER from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS
RECIPE:
Stamps: Eiffel Tower (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Paper: Chocolate Chip (Stampin Up), Cottonball White (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Enjoy Life Collection (My Little Shoebox)

It is Friday.....and that means it is time for Clear Dollar Stamps' CLEARLY INSPIRED CHALLENGE.

Today's challenge is called "ALL TIED UP". Yep, you guessed it...bring out your RIBBON.

I used CLEARLY COORDINATING RIBBON BY CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS. I used:

BUBBLE GUM

TICKLED PINK

LIME JUICE

BEE POLLEN

Don't have Clear Dollar Stamps stamps? Play anyway....with what you have. See you there!

I used SWEET SCOOPS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS. I stamped my first sundae on my white panel in the center, then stamped again on a post-it note at the top (so the sticky part is underneath) then cut it out and used it as a mask. I put it over my stamped image and stamped my left and write sundae so when maske was removed they are behind my first sundae. I then colored them all very simply using Ciao Copic markers from Clear Dollar Stamps that match the Clearly Coordinating Collection Summer Sun.

I used Ciao Copic markers:

YG06 matches LIME JUICE

RV06 matches BUBBLE GUM

Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday #90

This is Charlie. He is so excited that he is going to the Kentucky derby that he was telling all his mates; Chester, Carlene, Carmickle and Camilla, when I said "Hey Charlie" he turned to look and I snapped this photo ( Isn't he cute)! Come to the Kentucky Deby with me for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday

I used CHARLIE HORSE from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS

This is the first time I used the Van Gogh technique. What is the Van Gogh technique? Just coloring and then making dots or dashes in your coloring to look like a Van Gogh painting. For more info just visit this Technique Lover's Challenge post.
For the shape of my card, I just cut 1 1/4" off the bottom, then made the top look like a barn. Lastly, I adhered my image panel with dimensionals to the top part of the card and then sponged all the edges. The Gingham paper is adhered to the inside ( I adhered it as a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" piece then I cut the rest off to the shape of the card). I adhered a 3/4 x 5 1/2" strip of black cs to the inside of the front of the card and let it show 1/8" from the front of the card.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
Charlie Horse (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Paper: Wassau Exact Digital Hyper White (from Paper Zone), Berry (The Paper Company), Black (DCWV), Classic Red Checks (DCWV)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Copic Markers, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain

Hi everyone. It is Friday. Got plans?
Lately my son is into bowling with his friends. I remember doing that with my friends.

This is my card for today's Free For All Challenge on Splitcoaststampers

Today's challenge is to use the "OUT OF THE BOX WITH NESTABILITES" technique. I enjoyed learning this new technique. I will definitely try this again. I did stamp the image again and cut it out and adhered dimensionals, which defetes the purpose of this technique, but I felt it needed it.

I got to ink up this graceful new release GRACEFUL SKATER from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Graceful Skater (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Paper: Cottonball White 100lb CS (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Night Eclipse (from Clear Dollar Stamps), Green At Heart DP (Basic Grey from Clear Dollar Stamps)

Hi. How is your middle of the week going? It is sunny here. Yay. Love that. Aren't people in a better mood when the sun is out? Notice that? I just love it when we visit California.

This is my card for today's Sketch Challenge 276 on Splitcoaststampers.

I used a new release MARTIAL ARTS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS to make this masculine card.

What I did: For the main image I used a technique called Second Generation Stamping. You can find a tutorial on the Clear Dollar Stamps Blog HERE.

On the black strip, I stamped the small four images that are together in the stamp set with white craft ink and heat embossed. Then put brads in between the images.

For the gray panel, I crinkled it up then sponged with Basic Grey and sewed edges to card before adhering to base.

The base panel is adhered to the card base with dimensionals. I arranged all the little sentiments in a square then pressed my acrylic block to them picking them up in the position I put them in. Then I stamped with them alternating up right and up side down. Creating my text bg dp. Cool. I did the same with the little orange panel but not much shows of it.

Thank you so much for looking and visiting. Your comments make me smile.

Comment Candy

I have comment candy.
Isn't this image sweet? It is called CATERPILLAR SWING and it is a new digital image from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS that will be available April 15th. He was so fun to color and create with.
MY COMMENT CANDY
You can win this digital image free by playing.
1. Leave a comment on this post telling me the brand of your favorite Paper Trimmer by the end of the day on April 14th
2.I will draw a random winner from the comments on April 15th and post the winner.
3. That person will have 3 days to get back to me before I draw a new winner.
What I did: I used Microsoft Publisher 2007.
I worked with a blank A4 portrait template.
I clicked on insert, clicked on text box from pull down menu. I made the text box 4 1/2 x 11 on the left side.
I clicked on insert, clicked on picture from pull down menu, clicked on from file from next pop up menu. I found the file I saved and clicked on the sentiment I wanted from the caterpillar swing file and clicked on insert. I then moved it and sized it from the sides and corners to the bottom left corner. I clicked on print preview to make sure it was what I wanted.
So not to waste paper I repeated the last step by to retrieve the caterpillar image and placed it on the unused top right corner. Then printed. I cut the card to 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half so the sentiment was on the front in the right bottom corner.
I used my coud template to sponge clouds all over the front of card. Then I cut another piece from the same paper to 1 3/4 x 2 3/4. I sponged it with clouds as well and adhered to paper with dimensionals. I colored my caterpillar and cut out then adhered with dimensionals to the piece I just put on the card. Pretty simple.
RECIPE:
CDS STAMPS/IMAGES USED

CS/PAPERS:Cottonball White 100lb Cardstock (from CDS)

Technique Lover's Challenge #268

Bookmark Card FRONT

Bookmark card- Inside- Perforated Bookmark
I've been playing with this bookmark idea in my head for awhile and today's Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoaststampers gave me the perfect opportunity.
I used my new Clevercut (5 in 1) Paper Trimmer from Crafter's Companion to make the straight cuts, score my card for the fold, round the corners and perforate the edge for the removable bookmark.
My image is this wonderful new release I have been having fun with BLOOMING WITH BLESSINGS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

What I did: Basically, I made a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card but cut an extra 2 1/2 wide on the bottom part that would be the inside. Then used the perforated blade to separate bookmark from card inside and allowing it to fold inward and be removed. I cut the top edges off like a tag. Made a slightly smaller white panel to adhere to it after I stamped my images on it. I added an eyelet and ribbon. And used the 1 1/4 circle punch to make a hole in the fold to allow for the bookmark's ribbon to show through the front.
RECIPE:
STAMPS:Blooming With Blessings (Clear Dollar Stamps)
PAPER:Bermuda Bay (Stampin Up), Yellow DP (Cosmo Cricket), Pink DP (My Little shoebox), Wassau Exact Digital Hyper White (from Paper Zone)
INK:Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Melon Mambo (Stampin Up)
ACCESSORIES:Crushed Curry Polka Dot Grossgrain Ribbon (Stampin Up-RAK from K), Eyelet and setter (Eyelets etc.), Clear Daisy Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest from Clear Dollar Stamps), Dimensional Glaze as glue, Clevercut Paper Trimmer (Crafter's Companion), 1 1/4 circle punch (Stampin Up), 3/16" hole punch

I chose to case this card of Pat's.

I feel the NEED.....

My favorite line from the movie TOP GUN is "I FEEL THE NEED.........THE NEED FOR SPEED"! Hee. Love that hunk movie. I was 18 when I saw it in the theater on a date (not my husband). He came a year later...thank goodness.

Anyway...back to my NEED. I went to the grocery store for dinner (not feeling well today) so bought a roasted chicken. Well....Joanns is right next door. So you know what that means. Feeling good or not gotta check to see if anything new came in.

Ah Hah. I stumbled upon these new Fiskars punches. I was interested in these corner ones. So below are pictures of the ones I bought (there are others) and what they look like punched. I just had to feed YOUR NEED too. Hee.

Above is Punch 1 packaged

Above is Punch 1 Punched.

Ways To Use It Challenge #265

You want angled? You got it! This is my Angled card for today's Ways To Use It Challenge.

I made my (angled) waves using my new Clevercut (the 5 in 1) Paper Trimmer from Crafter's Companion.

When I saw today's challenge, this idea popped into my head so I pulled out this set UNDER THE SEA (for my fish) and HANGING OUT (for my sentiment) from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.

Fun challenge Julia. Thank you
What I did: this card really was a pretty simple, quick card. Yay. Like those. The waves are self explainatory, but the fish, all I did was stamp it twice on the yellow dp. I cut out one whole one, and the second, I only cut out minus the top and behind bottom fins. I then sponged heavily the edges with Crushed Curry. Then I put dimensionals between the two layers. And then adhered with score tape between the wave panels.
RECIPE:
Stamps:
Under The Sea, Hanging Out (Clear Dollar Stamps)
Paper: Kraft, Wassau Exact Digital Hyper White (from Paper Zone), Black, Yellow DP (Urban Prairie Basic Grey), Blue DP (Lemon Drop K&Company)
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black (from Clear Dollar STamps), Pacific Point, Crushed Curry (Stampin Up)

Clean And Simple Challenge #61

Is it a happy Monday? I hope so. I played in today's Clean And Simple Challenge (CAS). Which is to make a card/project where the only stamp is a sentiment/verse.

So I took a look at my new uninked stamps and had an "Ah Hah" moment. I saw this sentiment from Shawne's new release FABULOUS FRUIT STAND from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS and new I had to make an apple card with checked leaves. I just HAD to. Hee.

How did I do it? I folded my card in half with the fold at the top to make a 4 1/4 square card. Then I traced the bottom of a tupperware bowl leaving room at the top for the fold. I cut it out then used a ruler to measure a flat bottom for the circle and cut that. Then I put a piece of removable tape on my card front and placed a 4 1/4 square piece of red cs on top and cut around to make a matching circle. Next I used the scallop punch to cut a bite out of the red then cut a smaller bite out of the top only of the white then closed and used it as a guide to punch the bottom to match. Because the punch would not go through both pieces at once. I then sponged around the red bite mark then adhered to card then sponged around the outside edge so it would cover any white that showed (except the bite of apple of course). Then I cut a small "v" shape in the middle of the top fold. Then cut my leaves using a handmade template I made, from checker dp and white dp. Adhered together, cut any excess of white and folded in half. Then I put through the paper crimper at an angle for the leaves. Then I opened up the leaves and punched an eyelet at each end. I fed the ribbon through then adhered the leaves with fat dimensionals. I then tied the tag on after I punched out my circles, stamped my sentiment and inked the white circle edges. That's it.

Featured Stamper Challenge 165

Happy Easter! We went with my Mom and Step-dad to a nice brunch. The best part was spending time with family. It was at a golf course surrounded by Evergreen trees. Everything was so green and lovely. Love the Pacific Northwest.

This is my second card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge.

I just love Theresa aka TheresaCC's creations. I could spend all day visiting her gallery.

I chose this card to case.

Changes I made:Only two panels-one white, added stitching, Glazed my frog, Knotted my ribbon, Placed sentiment on circle with image, Omitted second circle

This card did not turn out as I had planned. I swear it had a mind of its own, like always. Hee. I set out to keep the card very close to Theresa's but the panels just did not look right. I had a bee pollen panel that I removed to emboss and then I saw the white only on the green and liked it. Hee. So then I added stitching and a knot to my ribbon on the same side as Theresa's but when I put it on the card, it was upside down and.......yes, you guessed it....I liked it. Hee. So then I put the circle on the other side etc and there you have it.

Happy Friday everyone. My days are all messed up because my son is on Spring Break here. So everyday seems like the weekend. Know what I mean?
I participated in today's Free For All Challenge 6. Today's Challenge is to make an Accordian Book. This was my first attempt at making one of these and I am so happy I did. I love it.
I got to ink up this hot new release BLOOMING WITH BLESSINGS from CLEAR DOLLAR STAMPS.
On the front, I used the new Labels Twelve Spellbinders Nestabilities I got from Clear Dollar Stamps and chalked the edge. On the inside I chalked after stamping. I stamped my large butterflies on separate paper, cut out (leaving a small white edge) and popped up inside the "praying for you " butterfly with dimensionals.
